Anthony Geary Biography
Anthony Geary was born in Utah, USA on the 29th day of May, 1947. His father, Russell Dean Gear was a mayor and a construction contractor while his mother, Dana Anderson, was a housewife.
Tony had two siblings and was the youngest of three children; they lived together in Coalville, Utah.
He attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City with his siblings. Anthony won a theatre scholarship at the university due to his brilliance and good academic records. He attended the university as a Presidential Award Scholar in theater.
Career
Tony’s acting career began with the ensemble “Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca.” His first role was in the ABC daytime drama entitled Bright Promises which aired in 1969.
He rose to prominence in the early 70s with his first professional acting role in Room 222. Afterward, he made more film appearances before he was included in the General Hospital cast in 1978.
Before that, he guest-starred in an episode of All in the Family in 1971. Anthony Geary starred in the ABC daytime drama as Luke Spencer from 1978 to 1984. His character in the film started as a hitman. Later, he played the role of a rapist who became obsessed with his victim, who he later married.
Tony left General Hospital in 1984 but returned in 1991. This time, he got a new character, Bill Eckert, Luke’s cousin from 1993. Tony played the roles of Bill and Luke until Bill’s death in the movie.
