Kasseem Dean, known worldwide as Swizz Beatz, was born in The Bronx, New York on 13 September 1978. Dean’s mother is of mixed race, as she shares Afro-Jamaican, Irish, and Puerto Rican ancestry.
The young Kasseem Dean was raised by his mother and didn’t see much of his father, as his parents got divorced while he was still young.
