Slim Thug has been interested in music since he was a child. Though he hasn’t revealed his educational qualifications, he revealed he performed freestyle raps in high school on several occasions.

While rapping in high school, Slim created his own mixtapes and hoped for the day he would become a big star. His talent was first discovered by Michael Watts with Swishahouse sometime in the 1990s. It was a mixtape project and Thug appeared as a guest artist.

After working with Swishahouse, Slim Thug realized that he had made so much money from mixtape sales. This motivated and propelled him to hone his skills and develop his music career. Consequently, he parted ways with Swishahouse to set up his own record label.

Slim Thug cut ties with Swishahouse on good terms after realizing how much money he could potentially make from publishing his own work.

He established an independent music company, Boss Hogg Outlawz, with his late friend E.S.G, to publish his mixtapes and music.

Stayve Thomas desired to be a success story so he developed his talent with dedication and devotion. He made history for himself after the release of his first album ‘Already Platinum‘.

The album was released in July 2005 after a series of delays from Interscope Records and Star Trek Entertainment. In the first week of release, the album Already Platinum debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 albums list and also sold more than 130,000 copies.
