Jo Bonfrere, a former technical adviser for the Super Eagles, has given his stamp of approval to Emmanuel Amuneke’s candidacy for the position of head coach.
The position was declared vacant by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after Jose Peseiro’s contract expired.

The three-time African was coached by Peseiro for 22 months.
The West Africans finished in second place at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations under the guidance of the Portuguese.

Amuneke has announced that he has applied for the position of head coach, making him one of the favorites to succeed Peseiro.
Bonfrere thinks Amuneke can be the Super Eagles’ coach.

Currently, I believe that Nigeria would benefit from having a native coach. Bonfrere assured VON that he was not an alien.
However, if the authorities choose Emmanuel Amuneke, the nation will benefit greatly. I am familiar with him.

“His mind is rock solid. His technical acumen and self-control allow him to get things done. I am more than willing to offer my technical support to Amuneke if requested by the Federation.
