In a formal declaration of intent to run for governor in the upcoming November election, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has said that his late employer, Governor Akeredolu, would be proud of him as a respectable successor.
It is my duty to reiterate the wishes of our late leader Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who passed away not long ago, during the official announcement that took place yesterday at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade in Akure, the capital of the state. He wanted me to take over as governor of the state after him—not after his death, though.

There were party leaders and supporters from all over the state at the carnival-style event to show their support for the governor. Aiyedatiwa made a statement about how, in his short time in office, “we have put the welfare of the people first by ordering all contractors back to sites to breathe life into the hitherto abandoned projects.”
According to him, they prioritized the workers’ well-being by paying off their outstanding salary arrears and settling large amounts from pensioners’ gratuities. We also make sure that workers get paid on time; in fact, we have no outstanding balances with any of our employees as of this writing.
The process of advertising
Critical areas, such as health, are also seeing sustained employment. As a result of all of these factors coming together, the faith that the American people had in the government was swiftly restored, faith that had been damaged by the extreme anti-democratic forces.
I am here today to address the popular desire for our state to continue down its current path of prosperity and progress. Through various channels, our party faithful and the general public have made it clear that they want this administration to continue beyond 2025.
