Yesterday, the Imo State House of Assembly screened eleven individuals for the position of commissioner. Among them was Hon. Bede Ekeh, a former member of the House of Representatives.
The State Assembly was presented with twelve screened nominees by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The following individuals were among those that underwent screening: Chief Cosmas Madauba, Barr. Ralph Nwosu, Hon. Chimezie Amadi, Dr. Sir Chika Benson Abazu, and Ozo Obinna Ogwuegbu.
Hon. Bede Ekeh, who represented the federal constituencies of Ngor Okpala and Aboh Mbaise, alongside Hon. Osakwe Modestus and Hon. Anyanwu Anselem Ezechinyere, as well as Barr. Emenike Ejikeme chuks major and Hon. Onyeoha Obinna Evaristus, were among the others.
Due to her alleged absence from the country, Hon. Mrs. Nkechi Ugwu had to be rescheduled.
Since the commissioner list signifies the activation of the ministries and governance, it has caused a certain amount of excitement across the state.
Ugwu will be in charge of women’s affairs, Nwosu of works, and Emelumba of information.
