APPROPRIATE SKILLS

Maintaining Current Status with the Ontario College of Nurses
Have worked at least two years in a level three intensive care unit, or have worked at least six months in a level three ICU while holding a valid Ontario critical care certificate.
Valid ACLS certification is required at all times.
Exhibited competence in patient care by autonomously administering treatments in accordance with provincial practice guidelines

Ability to plan, prioritize, think critically, solve problems, and instruct
Having the necessary physical abilities to perform daily tasks such as standing, bending, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching without experiencing constant pain; being able to transfer patients with the right tools and support; and standing for long periods of time without getting tired

Capable of performing all aspects of the registered nurse’s job
Making appropriate use of the supplied PPE while simultaneously recognizing and reporting potential dangers
Work schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends
Capable of working both alone and in a collaborative setting
