Legislators in the National Assembly had to wait approximately an hour for power to be restored before plenary could begin in the Senate chamber due to a power outage.

The Red Chamber was partially darkened after the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) interrupted power only moments before the plenary session began.

With the lights out in the plenary room, Godswill Akpabio, president of the senate, patiently awaited the return of power.

After a while, the lights came back on, and Akpabio began the plenary session.
