The Black Mafia Family (BMF) is one of the largest American drug-trafficking organizations of cocaine. This criminal organization employed over 500 people and made more than $271 million in profits from the illicit sale of hard drugs. Big Meech was born on 21 June 1968 in a religious home in Michigan. His birth name is Demetrius Flenory, and he is an American. Even though his family was religious, they were poor and not too sound financially. Demetrius grew up with his brother, Terry, and they were raised in poor financial situations.

He began selling drugs with his brother, Terry, on the streets of Detroit.  From selling drugs worth $50, the duo dropped out of high school to trade higher amounts of cocaine. Soon, their business grew as they made thousands of dollars, and together, they started one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in Detroit.

As they grew older, they thrived in the businesses and diversified to selling crack cocaine, marijuana, and heroin. In 1997, Big Meech, Southwest T, and Jerry Bland (a friend of theirs) were arrested for selling drugs at a mansion owned by the ex-NFL star, Boobie Clark’s mother. They were charged with illegal possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine, but they were able to escape those charges.

In 1999, they pleaded guilty to drug-related charged and were sentenced to 33 months in prison.

In 2020, Terry Flenory (Southwest T) was released to home confinement to minimize overcrowding and curb the spread of COVID-19. However, Big Meech wasn’t so lucky; he spent his 54th birthday in jail and maybe there till 2028.
